Forward, March!
50501 Vets Goes on the Offensive — We Need You!
Listen up, 50501 Vet Fam! 🫡
You may have noticed a lull on our Facebook page and with posts being approved. At last check, over 400 posts were pending approval. 👀
We know. And we’re sorry.
It’s been a long slog since January. We have a small hard-core squad of volunteers who have been giving it their all from the git-go, but we’ve put way too much gear in their rucks. Now, we need your help to keep 50501 Veterans going strong in the fight against fascism on our own shores.
We all know that this isn’t going as fast as any one of us would like. This is going to be a long slog, but you can’t beat the pay — our country, and our freedom.
50501 Veterans is still here. We’re still together. And nobody can take that bond from us. Ever.
People often wonder why veterans have such a tight bond together. Say it with me: TRAUMA BOND, BAY-BEE!
Welp, we’re all living that over again, and trauma bonding together again. We’ll get through this. Because we are stronger together!
NO KINGS DAY, Take II
So what do we have to look forward to?
The next massive national day of action is just around the corner — the second No Kings Day on Saturday, October 18th.
Similar to D-Day and the first No Kings Day, the flagship protest will be in DC, with at last count 2,500 protests scheduled throughout the rest of the country.
Let’s get everyone — EVERYONE — out on these streets together. Because WHOSE FUCKING STREETS ARE THEY?
Say it with me!
OUR FUCKING STREETS.
So bring your friends. Bring your veteran family. Bring the folks who haven’t been to a protest yet, but need to get into this mosh pit with the rest of us to feed off the energy our protests breed.
From the very beginning of this movement, the one thing we have seen is that once we get someone to show up, they keep showing up. And this is especially true with veterans.
Sure, some of the turnouts ebbed and flowed over the summer, but that’s SOP when kids are on vacation, youth sports take up mindshare, and well, it was damn hot out there across much of the country.
It didn’t help that different organizers had different days of action, but the movement as a whole is getting better at streamlining that as we grow. We’re not stepping on each other’s toes as much as we were even three months ago. Keep in mind that we’re building this jet fighter while it’s in the air, so please be patient as we work out the kinks.
But now it’s Fall, so grab your fave pumpkin spice bevvy and get your bad-ass self and your extended veteran family out to No Kings!
November Is Our Month
But we’re not stopping there.
November — the whole month — is National Veterans and Military Families Month. The next National Day of Action, being spearheaded by Refuse Fascism, is already scheduled for Saturday, November 5th. In DC, they tentatively plan to have events starting that day and then every day through Veterans Day.
Bottom line: we will have more ways to get involved in November than an E3 on payday at a used car dealership chock full of Chargers.
Let’s get out there in the front lines and be loud about who veterans are and what we stand for. And #RememberYourOath — it still hasn’t expired last time we checked.
Finally, as 50501 Veterans regroups, we’re removing restrictions from what you post in the ol’ Facebook Group. We’re not saying it’s a free-for-all, but we are saying your post is waaaaaay more likely to get approved.
We’ll keep info flowing about how to get involved, but what we really want is for all of you to be engaged, seen, and heard in 50501 Veterans — whether it’s on social media, on Discord or Signal, or in our monthly calls. You can check out all our platforms on the 50501 Veterans Linktr.ee.
Speaking of which: did you know our General Meetings are now the first Sunday of each month? 3:00 - 4:00 PM ET (2:00 - 3:00 PM CT/1:00 - 2:00 PM MT/12:00 - 1:00 PM PT).
This is a critical time for 50501 Veterans, as we’re deep in the process of re-engaging our teams — doing the ol’ RIP deployment shuffle, if you will.
Keep your ears open and your eyes peeled here and on our social media/Discord/Signal platforms for updates on how you can get involved — especially if you love to design things, share all the stuff on social media, reach out to people IRL, or otherwise reach people and make a difference. Help lighten the load in our rucks, if you will.
We’re glad y’all are here. We’re glad y’all are still hanging with us. And we’ll see y’all out marching on those streets next month, and the month after, and the month after...
FORWARD, MARCH!

I would too!
This is one of a few organizations I am going to focus my efforts with! 50501 Veterans, Common Defense, Indivisible. Keep the alliances going! It helps us all to be centrally focused and not let egos get in the way of progress. Minimize effort on meta! Do not waste too much time there. I understand keeping a presence there for people who haven’t left, but the movement is migrating off of Meta for the obvious reasons.
