What is 50501 Veterans, anyway?

Many people ask us: what is 50501 Veterans?

Here’s a quick overview of who we are, what we’re doing, and how you can get involved!

Who We Are
We are a nonpartisan group of veterans who have come together around our oath to the Constitution. We founded this group within the larger 50501 movement because we know veterans have a unique role to play — not just defending our own rights, but standing up when the freedoms enshrined in the Constitution are under threat.

What We Stand For
We advocate for veterans and active duty members facing attacks on healthcare, diversity, inclusion, and equity. We also stand firmly for constitutional rights — for everyone. Our work includes both defending our own communities (such as fighting VA cuts and bans on gender-affirming care) and broader action when democracy itself is at risk.

How We Organize
Facebook is only our landing zone. Real organizing happens elsewhere. Get vetted and join our private FB group. Once in you will find the link to our organizing space. You will be vetted again to gain access for the safety of all of our members.

How to Get Involved
We have teams for:
• Design (graphics, videos)
• Public Affairs (media interviews)
• Writing (speeches, press releases)
• Research (laws, partners, coalition opportunities)
• Protest logistics (marshaling, medical, de-escalation)
• Coalition Building (local and national partnerships)
• Social media (moderation, content creation)

Whatever your skills, there’s a role for you if you want to help!

• Launching a podcast for structured veteran discourse.
• Hosting veteran town halls nationwide.
• Educating on lawful vs unlawful orders.
